Electric step problems

2013 Thor Citation 24 SA

when i open the coach door my steps try to work the electric Moter runs but the gears seem to be skipping anyone else have that happen ? The steps do not go completely up or down.

The motors wear out, we've had to replace each one on the many motorhomes we've had over the years, they usually fail at about 5 years old.
We just replaced the motor on our 2014 last year.

Pull on the steps when the are attempting to extend so that the Kwikee motor part number can seen, which is underneath the top step when retracted. Find a match on Amazon and a screwdriver, takes 30 minutes at most to replace.

Thanks for the information, I removed the motor which works fine but the gear housing that is part of it slips. you are right it is not hard to remove and replace except for the location is not very handy, and those 6 bushings are a pain one on top the moter gearhouse and one below. anyways, New 200.00 moter and I am all set. beats driving 75 miles to the dealer and paying 700.00 or more
