Dometic 9500 awning install (exterior wiring)

Hello - I'm installing a Dometic 9500E power awning on my roof rack. It's a wall mount model. Wiring exits from awning housing on one end. Both ends of awning have holes approx. 3/4" diameter, on back side. Since normally this awning would be against a wall, these holes would be blocked. On the roof rack, the holes are exposed. On the side with no wiring, I was simply going to glue a plastic plug. On the side with wiring exiting, I'd like to know how anyone has handled that. It doesn't appear the awning end cap comes off easily, so I can't get behind to thread a j-box or fitting. I could glue an elbow and that should keep water out.

Any ideas appreciated - thanks!
