Any reason your DIY video is not applicable to all NVC3 branding (Dodge, Freightliner and Mercedes) and engine models (OM642, OM646 and OM651)?

Sorry this guy FAILED a basic trade test.

Certainly NOT to our standard of repair at Linden . The big mistake made which puts PAS pump life in jeopardy .
Does anyone know what it was?

No. there is a procedure to follow to purge out the rack, (in this case) and the lines.
Plus inspect the reservoir for crap retention.
Whether its a $175 PAS pump or a $5000 one on Poclain, or Caterpillar the procedure is ALWAYS the same.
It wasn't done on the video nor even mentioned .
Trade question?
Do PAS systems filter on the suction or return line?

Neither the suction or return line filter on the closed power-assist steering system.

Show me where it says in WIS?
I disconnected both PS lines from a rack. Turned steering few times.
Gathered 1 quart of PS fluid in total - which is capacity of PS system.

What is the purpose of these comments?
Make a better video if you know better than me.

First are you sure.
Have you looked inside the reservoir with an endoscope to verify the interior for cleanliness /residual contamination and the existence of an integral filter?
