Found this 118 low roof up in Greenville TN for sale on Craigslist. Called the seller and turns out he was next door neighbors with a good friend of mine. almost like it was meant to be. Went ahead and took a truck and trailer just because i didn't know the condition and didn't want to get stuck out, glad i did because turns out the owner had installed trailer tires on the van.

Got right to work assessing what all needed to be done. Someone had just installed all new brake system, master cyl, booster, all calipers etc etc. Just mainly needed body work. Right away had to get 2nd row seat for the kids and windows so they could see out. This van will be used to run parts and to haul my autocross/track car to events. May end up taking it camping some we have a small pop up camper so building the van out for camping probably wont happen. Thanks to Joel at MMS for all the grille conversion stuff!

Oh also had the hardest time finding the OEM size tire for the 15 inch wheels. Ended up going with the Nokian C Line cargo, correct load rating and European (Russian?) made.

He’s just this guy, you know?
It looks like you got a good deal and you did a great job on the body. Where did you source your replacement rear doors and roughly what was the cost? They look like they were almost completely rust free

I was driving through town and saw another shop had a sprinter out back sitting on the ground with no wheels. I guess it blew a head gasket and the owner walked away from it. They were using it for scrap metal container and i snagged afew parts off it and the drivers front door. I got both the rear doors from a local scrap yard for like $300, one had a small dent in it but the body shop was able to fix easily. Ive found a ton on car-part.com. Go on there and just search for Sprinter and what parts and it will show you all the scrap yard stock within a set range or nationwide.

Next step is "bulletproofing" the engine and im gonna start driving it. Ive got afew project VW cars i really want to get started on.
