We heard the 'story' of cash as well, plus repairs needed. We figured we would bank the cash and use it for future dealer service.
Let me know when you get your Sprinter fixed, then I'll get mine fixed...I'll wait to the last possible moment to ensure benefit of the latest firmware updates, training and experience for service technicians. Let them practice on other vehicles and maybe they'll do mine better.
"In addition to repairs, current owners and lessees of the affected vehicles may be eligible for payments up to $3,290 as part of a $700 million class-action settlement. Former owners and lessees can receive up to $822.50 depending on how many claims are submitted for the same vehicle. In addition, owners may be eligible for additional compensation if repairs affect vehicle performance."Where did you hear about the money?
Wise words indeed.Let me know when you get your Sprinter fixed, then I'll get mine fixed...
Updated electronicsWhy the "New Instrument Cluster"?, and wondering exactly what that would include?
10 start count down changed to GRADUALLY lengthening start delays???? Hey - I can wish can't I?Why the "New Instrument Cluster"?, and wondering exactly what that would include?
Remember or do take into account that the VW emission system is completely different to that on an MB productWhat kind of work do you think will done on the vans? The information so far seems to be some cash approx. $3k and recall work to be done to the emission system. One website said that would include software, NOx sensor and new copper catalyst. Also, that 85% of the vans must be repaired within three years. I'm in California, so I'm assuming the recall will be tied to vehicle registration. I also read that the vehicles will be checked annually at the dealer for 5 years, to verify that the emissions system is functioning properly.
Since the emission system seems complicated already as is, going in after the fact and making adjustments seems like opening a Pandora's Box. However, perhaps I'm overthinking it. I've read positive experiences post-scandal regarding VW TDIs. What's your take? Make a future with the NCV3 or the beginning of an exit strategy?
Why BMW has not been punished? Especially after they got Trump mad when they agreed voluntarily to conform to the CARB emission standarts.German auto makers are being punished for Germany expressing its will to be independent in the changing geopolitics of the world. Nothing else...
That’s a great point. I believe the VW doesn’t have DEF? Now that I found the chart from EPA, I’m more at ease. Software plus sensor sounds mild, but for those with more experience with the emission and all inter-related systems, does the settlement make one bullish, bearish or neutral on the NCV3 platform?Remember or do take into account that the VW emission system is completely different to that on an MB product

Punishment is coming... Especially if the Germans will go ahead and finish Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline with the Russian Federation. You need to look a bid wider to understand it better...Why BMW has not been punished? Especially after they got Trump mad when they agreed voluntarily to conform to the CARB emission standarts.
All in the spirit of the cancel culture! We really could use a block function on this forum to avoid the habitual non-fact posters. (and conspiracy-theory spreaders)
Look at catalysts under Hopcalite and related catalysts for a likely answerWe really could use a block function on this forum to avoid the habitual non-fact posters. (and conspiracy-theory spreaders)
The current status is that the draft agreement is open for a 30 day comment period.
at some time after that, it will be actually approved and put into place.
after that, we may see the details of the technical fixes, and of any owner-incentives MB chooses to offer to help sweeten the pot for us, and help them obtain the 85% compliance that would avoid additional fines for the corporation.
Anyone have actual information on what a copper catalyst is? (which converter is involved?)
