auxiliary fuel line

Hi I have found what looks like an auxiliary fuel outlet on my sprinter fuel tank. pics attached. If it is does anyone know if I can tap into it and if it is actually an other fuel outlet. I wish to install a diesel heater and don't think it is a good idea to tap into the fuel line. This is on top of the tank

Hi I have a 2018 new shaped sprinter and I’m looking to do the same thing, (tap into the vehicle’s fuel tank from a possible auxiliary outlet as Aussie Jack wants to do)
I’m thinking if I have to drop the feul tank it will be too complicated for me.
any advice out there ?

Jack,
That is the vent for the tank. To get the outlet for your heater just drop the tank and you find the outlet next to the main outlet. Eric,

If you have the KL1 option you have the aux outlet. Put your VIN into www.mbdata.com to find out, or give MB your VIN.
The tank is very easy to drop out, I helped a mate do his brand new van the other week.
2 x straps, filler neck then unscrew the fuel pump assy.
Plenty of Youtube clips to watch.
