Truck Fridge, anyone use them?

Hey guys! I was going to put an Isotherm Cruise 130 fridge in my van conversion but apparently they are backordered from Europe until end of September. Thanks COVID! It's been a huge issue trying to find a unit I want that someone has in stock. I came across this model recently. Anyone have any experience with this company? Are they are a solid build quality and comparable to Norcold or Isotherm? Looking for a 5 cu ft fridge.

Thanks all!

I have a TF65 and am quite happy with it. It is quiet and uses very little energy.

The only minor complaint I have is that the temp adjustment is not actually a thermostat where you set a temperature. It is a dial from 1 to 7. In the summer 3 is pretty good. In colder temps, 3 might freeze things. Seems like a given setting just sets a certain delta in temp from inside to outside. This is just a small issue for me really.

Isotherm is a good product and their form factor works well in vans.

Most RV and boat items are in very high demand and hence the delay. Supply chains in most of Europe and Asia have been operating at or near full capacity for 2-3 months but demand is higher than ever for RV products. Summer is also a busier period for buying RV and boat products than winter.

I'm very happy with my Isotherm Cruise 219 (DanFoss BD50F compressor), it works great in 100+ temperatures. Indel/webasto makes: Isotherm, Vitrifrigo, and Truckfridge, See post#66, https://sprinter-source.com/forums/index.php?threads/46644/page-4#post-453875, all with DanFoss compressors. You just have to keep checking, there are places that have the Cruise 130 in stock, https://www.defender.com/product.jsp?id=3860767, https://www.westmarine.com/buy/isot...ft-ac-dc-silver-door-3-sided-flange--14995229, https://mmarineonline.com/products/...vceaEJQBlsQPRnM1x1VZqjPS5z-tfdR4aAjn8EALw_wcB, https://www.suremarineservice.com/Galley/Cruise-Classic/ISO-1130BA7CL0000.html. I got mine from Defender Marine, I got it with in 7 days of my order. Here is a great Refrigerator size comparison tool, https://www.suremarineservice.com/Galley/Refrigeration-Size-Comparison/.

I bought a Vitrifrigo 115l from Sure Marine. they had the best price and shipped to a depot near me where I picked it up, saving a significant amount over delivery. Very highly regarded, were lots of help. I visited on a trip and they took one out of the box to let me measure and look at it, then shipped one later. Showroom is closed for Covid-19 as of August 2020.

Mark

Thanks. Most places will show them "in stock" on line and then when you order they send you an email and saying it's coming from the manufacturer direct and it's delayed 6-8 weeks. I think that is a way they get you to actually pay and place the order.

Thanks Mark! I will look into this unit for sure. At first glance it's looks really nice.

I'm highly recommending Sure Marine as a supplier no matter what fridge you buy.

I haven't seen any complaints about the Truckfridge. I have a Snomaster, and only need that style because of the tight clearances of hauling motorcycles and passengers, no room to open a swinging door style fridge, so had to go with a chest style.

But if I were going to install an upright type fridge, I'd go with a Vitrifrigo. Also haven't seen any complaints about them. And the bonus is they have a larger freezer, one that goes all the way across the top, rather than just in the upper corner.

I just installed my truck fridge 130. It’s great if you don’t mind the smallish freezer. Seems well built, quiet and low power use.

Thanks all for the help. I took Mark's opinion and went with the Vitrifrigo 4.2 cu ft. The larger freezer was a nice selling point too.

I got it from Marine Parts Source for $1k. They also had it in stock.

I've had 2 Truck fridge units, installed 2 more, and had a used iso fridge. (iso only one really gave me any issues (but it was about over voltage from my old system not a fridge issue)... for the money truck fridge all the way, (only issue TF is a little less "fancy"). Iso stuff in SS is nice, and handles are worlds apart (that's why $ difference)...TF130 600$? iso 130 1600?
