Hitch capacity for motorcycle carrier

We have a Leasure Travel Van, Unity Model. The manufacturer advises that the maximum tongue weight is 500 lbs (at the hitch) and that capacity reduces significantly with extensions. The hitch is stamped with a 600 lbs maximum tongue weight. We currently haul a Suzuki 200 (approx 300 lbs) on a moto-tote carrier which weighs 68 lbs.

The moto-tote carrier extends approx. 18 inches beyond the hitch and with the bike on the rack, the handlebar is 1-2" from the rear of the coach. We transported the bike thousands of miles without incident.

We are considering a larger motorcycle (approx. 400 lbs). When you add in the carrier weight it is getting close to the maximum tongue weight. I am a little concerned given that the weight would extended 18 inches beyond the hitch.

Any insights would be appreciated as I don't want to purchase a bike that cannot bee safely transported with the carrier.
