Interesting video review - bottom line: he would not choose the 2.0L M274 Sprinter for towing.

He wouldn't choose any non insulated sprinter for towing or driving at highway speeds. He didn't have an issue with the motor.
Interestingly enough, I pulled my lower rear side panels off my passenger to start building a couple cabinets. The panels have no insulation behind them and are ~1/4" thick including the panel board, foam and vinyl. Just removing these thin panels massively increased the amount of road noise. Just shows how little needs to be done for a huge improvement.
