Am I the only person on Sprinter Source Forum that owns a G31? I am aware of only one other G31 that had stunningly low miles (like, under 4,000mi.) when it resold at Motorhome Specialists in 2017.
For those of you who are not familiar with the G31, it suffered the same fate as many products and companies during the banking collapse of late 2008 (Can you think of any other Republican calamitous failures... as you sit, you know... alone at home? I bet you can.)
The Granddaughter of Gulfstream’s founder was so impressed when she got to see my unadulterated unit recently, that she is considered reintroducing the model. (But now you have a new financial collapse, so there likely goes that idea...)
Anyway, the point of my post is to uncover the true purpose behind the E8 external Torx bolt located in the driver and passenger door hinges. They either hide grease ports like older MB models or they hold the actual hinge pin still. My vote is the later but my hope is the former. (Just a tidier, longer lasting way to grease door hinges.)
I have googled this, I have polled Dr. Sprinter (Where did Andreas go? I hope he is alright... Maybe he went the same place as my missing 6 posts...) and I called a dealer whose parts dept. kindly looked up the hinge schematic that did NOT show the E8 external Torx bolt or a hole at all.
Conspiracy? I think not!
