Transmission hose rusted

The metal pipe that attaches to the radiator is rusty on my 2005 Sprinter. It's not leaking but I'd feel better if it was replaced.
I don't think there's any rust where it attaches to the radiator , it's mostly corroded where it meets the rubber hose.
It it straightforward unscrewing from the radiator or do I need to take any special precautions ?
The other metal pipe that attaches to the upper part of the radiator is only slightly rusted and I think I can leave it alone.
I've got just over 90k miles and I'm ready to do a transmission fluid change so I thought replacing this hose would be a good time to do that.

Cheers

It will either come off very easily or it won't.
If it doesn't want to go, I'd leave it if there is no leaking.
Frankly, unless it looks really bad, it's likely fine. I'd rather hit it with a wire brush.
Otherwise, if it galls the threads, it will be a hose and a radiator. and another hose likely.

Thanks , I tend to agree , I cleaned it up with a brass brush and sprayed some rust inhibitor on .

You could smear them with a coat of wheel bearing grease like I did when I replaced mine('02 Sprinter).
I did both. Did the steering rack pipes at the same time with the same grease.
Thanks to Vic(AP).

As with Billtomahawk and many others, I also have coated the metal part of the lines with grease. I would not try to replace them unless forced to do so. If there is a problem at the connection with the radiator (as has been reported in other threads), it usually means a new radiator. I have had to swing out my radiator on several occasions. I only disconnected the lines at the junctions the nuts were willing to loosen. For most DIY work requiring the swing out of the radiator pack, it does not matter which transmission line fitting disconnects, as long as both lines separate at one of the two points.

When I plan to just coat rusting parts with grease I don't do any prep. You might weaken things in the process. There are job specific corrosion inhibiting products. Grease has worked for me.

I periodically grease other parts too.
