Hi Guys,

I have a sprinter 311 2007 with a seized engine.
Engine code: 646.985
Cylinder head number: A6460101020

I have purchased a om611 engine from ebay (it was supposed to be a om646 engine)....

Number on the block: R6110111101
Cylinder head number: A6110105020

Am i correct in thinking that all ancillaries and sump will fit fine onto the om611 engine and i can get my van back on the road again?

Many thanks

Joe

Hi Joe,

I'm not sure you're going to get any sort of answer to your question here as most forum members are in the USA and they only got the OM612 and OM647 five cylinder engines in the T1N and then the OM651 four cylinder later on in the life of the NCV3.

If there is any relationship between the OM611 to the OM612 and the OM646 to the OM647 then I do not think it will be a direct or simple swap. There was a recent discussion on fitting an OM612 in place of an OM647 and the final answer was don't do it.

Keith.

PS Are you in the UK or ??? please?

PPS And if you where mis-sold the engine why can you not return it for a full refund?
