Whats your ratio of idle:drive time in any given week? Other MFGs suggest that 1 hour of idling is equivalent to 25 miles of driving. Note that EGR flow is quite high at idle, which can contribute to faster soot buildup in the oil.
With no DPF on the T1N, and turbo control limiting excess air, the combustion temps should be reasonable at high idle.
