2011 crew starter fuse

My 2011 high top crew van has a problem with the starter fuse blowing out. Replaced the starter motor and then replaced fuse (20a) and the fuse blew out immediately. Tried again with a 25a fuse and it promptly blew out immediately. Any ideas what may be causing the problem?

There are many write ups regarding NCV3 starting problems but none that I have found that mention the fuse blowing out after installation of a new starter. There seems to be an over current condition that is causing the fuse to pop. What would cause the initiation of the :thinking:start sequence to draw in excess of the fuse rating (25A)?

Since the 25 amp fuse clearly isn't in line with the starter motor itself, I would be taking a hard look at the starter relay.

This 3rd party diagram includes the 25 amp fuses:

(if you use the PDF file referenced above, you can zoom in to the fuse values/locations)

IF you're talking about Fuse 23, it powers the starter's solenoid, and there could be wiring harness damage between the relay and the starter.
