The number of days overdue for a service.

Does the number increase by one every day?

Is there a way to reset this ourselves? I had service done at a non-MB shop and they didn't know how to reset it.

You may want to question the competency of the shop.
Curious, what service did they perform? Certain the proper spec oil was used?
Follow instructions in owner's manual for reset.

With the NCV3, only one of the two types of steering wheel (with/without buttons) can self-reset the maintenance number.

I forget which version *can* do it ... the other version requires a proper scanner.

There are (many?) old threads asking "how can i reset the service warning?" (mostly from 2007 and 2008)
