I have the 'Silver screens' that Cheyenne refers to which fit externally. Product is well made and of a decent quality with velcro straps for the door mirrors to hold in place and a loop on each side if you want to attach to the cab door handles. The screen is a really nice snug fit, but only slight downside is limited opening of the cab doors when the screen is in situ.
I had a look at vancomfort before (someone else recommended them) but saw nothing for the 1996-2005 Sprinter.
On eBay, I have found just a single option for External Thermal Screens for our age Sprinters - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thermal-e...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649
Those don't look too bad. Price-wise I guess middle of road? seen cheaper for other vehicles but also seen much more expensive (and insanely so) as well.
I haven't gone for those at this stage as the image shows them being fitted to a Chassis cab and I understand the chassis cab screen is 4" shorter then the standard cab? If that IS the case, these wouldn't do the trick - and with an Italian seller I am not convinced a question would not get lost in translation.
(I know it is not a sprinter chassis cab in the photo, but more concerned about the fact they might be sized for chassis cabs)
A good point about screen height, something I had forgotten about, although I'm not sure it's a 4" difference, I thought more like 1".
That reminds me that a few years ago I bought a set of internal screens from CAK Tanks in Kenilworth and they did not fit my coachbuilt MH, they where too tall and the top row of suckers landed on the sun shade strip and would not hold, I sold them and bought the KANTOP which fitted much better.
CAK Tanks list a set of external for the 1995 -2006 T1N so may be worth asking them how tall the screens actually are.
What I think I will do thinking about it is hold off any purchases until Feburary. The UK Motorhome Show is on at the NEC early Feb and I am sure there will be vendors there who even if they don't have stock to hand should be able to tell me 100% if they have suitable screens (and I can have a look at the ones they display for general quality). I might be away in the van early Feb but if it is too cold will not sleep in it (might not even have a bed in there yet at that time anyway!)
