That is the end of the factory installed trailer towing wiring loom!
Send me an email with your VIN # and
We can look at how that got installed!
Also take a flashlight and have a look in the seat box under you drivers seat for the green trailer brake connector!
If you got that option from the factory build with a rear step it would be the first one I've ever seen.
Normally you can have the step and no trailer towing options or the trailer package (cross member-receiver + trailer towing wire loom but no rear step!
Interesting!

sunshinecoastmark1234,
Click on "sailquik" at the top left hand corner of this text box.
That will open a menu.
Select "send email to sailquik"
In the email, include the VIN # of your Sprinter and a valid return email address (I think
you already did that, but it makes it alot clearer if it all comes on one email.
Regards,
Roger
P.S. You can email me direct @ sailquik.....at......gmail......dot com.

It can be equipped with trailer tow prewire. We order most of ours that way.

I see this is an old thread.
I have a 2016 170 crew. I found this connector at the rear of my van. It has step as well. I am installing lights hookup, 7 pin, very soon. Hitch as well.

Can i buy a connector anywhere that uses this plug ?

Thanks
