Ongoing Glow Plug Failures? Controller Info:

I've had ongoing Glow Plug Failures for 2+ years.
(2007 Sprinter 2500 with 3.0L Engine)
Long story, short, this is what I learned:
-There are TWO Glow Plug CONTROLLER STYLES for the 2007 Sprinter 2500 3.0 L Engine.
-One is for CERAMIC GLOW PLUGS, with a HIGHER VOLTAGE.
-The other is for STEEL GLOW PLUGS with LOWER VOLTAGE (4.4 V).
The Sprinter Dealer Service Dept. put the CERAMIC CONTROLLER in my Sprinter with STEEL GLOW PLUGS.
That explains the ongoing glow plug failures: too High of Voltage.
Note:
Part #642-900-58-01 = STEEL GLOW PLUG CONTROLLER.
Part #642-900-27-00 = CERAMIC GLOW PLUG CONTROLLER.
P.S. Steel Glow Plugs are less expensive than the Ceramic Plugs ($25 vs. $65).
I hope this helps others out there.
