OldWest,
As always thanks for your thoughtful and thorough reply.
1. Acknowledged
2. Not interested in running while driving and so don't think the comment applies
3. Acknowledged... although details of how to make smaller are still an unknown (perhaps need to read Autocamp's description more carefully)
4. Read Autocamp's exhaustive explanation of his retrofit and, frankly, was overwhelmed. Hard to separate out the specifics involved with just the AC retrofit and all of the other modifications that he made. Make no mistake, I am in awe of his knowledge, fabrication skills and the level of detail with which he executed the upgrade, but what he did is (way) beyond me.
5. Will take your advice and kick off a new thread to see what I get
6. Am aware of the benefits of removing the weight, but given various suspension upgrades, handling is not really an issue for me at this point.
7. Was that question directed at me... if so, I did do a partial repaint of the fiberglass... had a body shop re-paint the front 1/3rd (flat area from skylight to front edge and it came out 'pretty' well. Definitely took care of getting rid of the oxidation and they did a pretty good job of matching, but think I would be better to take to an RV/Boat specialist familiar with painting fiberglass when the time comes to do it again (and that time will come ).
Otherwise, I continue my T1N education... just replaced the EGR valve after periodically 'limping' through our most recent trip and also, upon our return, found a puddle of transmission oil underneath "Elvis" (the name we've given our Westy) only to discover the cause was the infamous "Transmission Adapter Plug Housing" oil leak. Turns out both repairs were fairly straight forward.
