Does anyone know the weight of a fully dressed OM 612/647? Engine and transmission would be fine as well. I am curious as to the weight savings of the aluminum over the iron of the 4BT cummins. I know there have been endless discussions about swapping engines, and various other things, in-to and out-of sprinters and other vehicles. The subject of engine weight comes up quite frequently and no numbers have ever been given for the OM612/647. I know what the 4BT weighs (based on diesel power's information), but have no idea what the OM should weigh.
