Where to buy mobil 1 ESP online?

Anyone have a good source for this stuff? I can't find it anywhere locally, and the few online sources I found want a ridiculous amount to ship it.

Have you checked with local parts stores to see if they will order it in for you? I would think they could get it from their suppliers shipped free if you order case quantities. If my memory is correct you need 13 qts for a change anyway. Good luck. vic

I use Europarts of San Diego. <snip>
I'm giving another prop to Steve Schock at Europarts (www.europarts-sd.com). Steve knows his stuff (and he knows your Sprinter's needs).

Even if you find a cheaper supply, it's unlikely you'll find a more knowledgeable supplier of MB approved parts for Sprinters. He's never sent me the wrong stuff.

Steve also ships fast, follows up with phone calls if there's a question in his mind or if he discovers something that will impact the timeline, like a UPS strike or bad weather.

I'm pretty sure - at some time in the last 4 years - he's called me to say, "hey you ordered this, but it's for a T1N, not an NCV3; is that a mistake?"

Thanks guys.

I did check with my local checker. They couldnt' even find the stuff to order.

You guys ordering from europarts, are you getting Mobil 1 ESP or running the Fuchs stuff they show online?

My van has 75K on the clock and hasn't had any DPF/EGR issues. the ESP stuff has been used for every oil change so I'm thinking it's best to stick with that..

Tried the MB dealer? Mine was selling it for pretty cheap. I've been using Valvoline MST from NAPA. It's at least as good, maybe better.

Periodically the NAPA parts dealers have Mobil 1 ESP on special, and people have been posting announcements about it here on the forum.
About a month ago i picked up 10 quarts for (i think) $5.99 each, based upon such a post.

Mobil 1 0w40 was $4.99 here. Why are you using a 229.51 oil? The NAPA I visited didn't have the 229.51 variety.

As someone already mentioned, try your Ogden Pep Boys. They usually carry or can order Mobil 1 ESP Formula M 5W40.

TH43,
The OP has the '07 144' wb NCV3 Sprinter. (V6 OM-642 Engine)
I believe that MB BEVO 229.51 is recommended for all the V6's wth DPF.
Mobil 1 ESP (Emission System Protection) Formula M 5W-40 (Low Ash)
is the most appropriate Mobil 1 Product for his application.

Mobil 1 European Formula 0W-40 meeting
MB BEVO 229.5 is correct for T1N Inline 5 cylinder engines ('02-'06)
OM-612 & OM-647

The closest Pep Boys to my house - that I know about - is in Everett, WA and they carry Mobil 1 Formula M ESP 5w-40.

NAPA in Seattle never has Mobile 1 ESP 5w-40 on the shelves.

Seattle area NAPA auto parts stores usually have a compliant Valvoline Synpower fluid on the shelves.

The Valvoline part number is vv966 (that's vee-vee nine six six). The NAPA retail computers can look this up by vv966, if I recall correctly.

It's Valvoline Synpower 5w-40 (or was it 30?) MST, though MST isn't always on the bottle.... this product is or was on the MB 229.51 spec sheet.

All the spec sheets are at bevo.mercedes-benz.com

See this thread for more talk about the Valvoline alternative:
