2010 513 intermittent limp mode code P226300 boost pressure deviation

I have a 2010 513 Sprinter motorhome that goes into limp mode occasionally and sometimes quite often. I can drive 1000kms. or more with no dramas and then limp mode or drive 20kms. and then limp mode. The fault code is P226300 boost pressure deviates from the specified value. The vehicle pressure and smoke tests ok. Intercooler hoses have been replaced, turbo replaced and charge pressure sensor at turbo replaced. Is it possible there is an intermittent problem in the ECU. This has been going on for a while and is very frustrating. Thanking you in advance for any ideas.

Where are you located and what engine? I am guessing not in the US.

Who did the work? Sounds like a lot of stuff replaced.

I am in Brisbane, Australia. It is the OM 651 engine 2.1 litre. The work was done by a reputable Sprinter mechanic, except for the intercooler hoses which were done by a country mechanic.

Have you checked all the components in the vacuum system separately and see if they hold vacuum?

Install a vacuum gauge and see what the vacuum is doing when the condition you described does happen... Monitor with the scanner the function of boost flap + wastegate flap + boost pressure + boost pressure downstream of low pressure turbocharger vs the vacuum pressure from the gauge.

You might have a situation where under a certain condition there is not enough vacuum pressure. I have seen this caused by the one way vacuum supply valve that is in the brake booster. The hole on the port of vacuum supply valve can be enlarged a bit with a slightly bigger drill bit. This fix has solve the issue with low boost on a few vans I have worked on in the past.
