Both belt tensioner bolts broke on FEAD. I successfully removed one with an easy out. The second is harder to get out. I noticed on the one I got out that the threaded hole is a through hole. There is some space between the casting it secures to and the front of the motor. I would like to know if the other threaded boss is a through hole as well. I'm afraid of tapping hole too deep and damaging the engine. I appreciate the help!

Can I get a nut behind each threaded boss of the front timing cover housing that the tensioner bolts onto?

I don't think so, don't remember exactly, but I think you would have to take the front cover off to get to the back side and it's not a cover, it's the front of the engine.....
You could probably get a time sert in, or maybe thread the hole the next size up and put in a stepped stud....
