Simple Fresh/Grey Tank Option Under Mounted

Currently have a setup with sink on driver side facing window of our cargo van build. While original build plan was great we are looking to get some space inside under sink. If I was able to mount 2 tanks close to each other on drive side under the sink area I could easily plum my water pick up to it, and grey water drain. Just can not find any company showing ones that would work there or two. I plan to mock up with dimensions of tanks I found but like some more ideas if something I am not finding.

Current setup has water pumped mounted under sink, simply two 6 gallon containers (maybe 7 I forget) fresh up to sink, drain in to other container. These two jugs fill the entire space under sink.

Found one tank that said can be mounted on Driver side that is 11 gallons. Little boost in water is fine, don't need more for what we do. If I can get two of them on same side (similar to 22 gal ones I see available) I would be set up great.

Thanks for input!

Here's my setup: 1000003548.jpg

This 25 gallon tank is on the passenger side at the rear over the wheel. It provides house water for dishes, showers, etc. A 10 gallon cube on the driver's side provides drinking water. Grey water goes into a 5 gallon under side container.

If you are willing to relocate your spare tire to the rear door, I have seen freshwater/gray water tanks that fit into the spare tire space.

Personally, my choice is to locate everything inside the cabin space due to freezing concerns.

Here's another option:

For what we are using it for and since interior is all done... I am shooting to move a few outside. Winter here in NY is extreme and Van is in garage for winter any. No need for it out in salt, won't be camping any so freezing is no issue.

I like the driver side tank options, 11 is tempting if I could fit 2 in same spot but that will not work after measuring. At that point for same price I would just run the 22 gallon on driver side space, sink and pump is right above it so a simple hole through floor and a tank hook up at bottom, vent it. Probably throw a hose connection off bottom to fill with hose quick connection as well as using as a water source to fill a bucket if needed. I am pretty sure that is my plan for fresh water.

As for grey tank - I see plenty options for passanger side but with sink facing out driver side window I am not sure how well a drain line will be run under the body to that side tank and it not be to low. I also see spare tire setup but I removed my rear ladder and spare tire mount due to just no need, I prefer clean look of back door open as well as in the way of hitch accessories (dirtbike on carrier). Even if I did use that area of spare tire as grey tank I feel the plumbing will be super long and dip in low spots.

Last option is only have a sink inside, I have no real problem keeping a single jug inside JUST for sink drain and empty as needed. But gaining space of the jug under sink would be prefer.

Ugh idk what to do

Only you can decide on what's the best solution for your use case.

The thing about home builds is that there's always something else to do once you use it and figure out what works or not..... LoL

That is very true. My father built this up originally and now I took it over from him, while it was done well all around, the wife and I use it much more than his plans were. As we use it we see where we need to make changes. Have a lot changing this summer so trying to get this water idea figured out.

Just worried any grey tank location I can use will not be an easy drain. But perhaps need to run fresh water tank elsewhere and keep location under sink/driver side just for Grey tank. Much easier to pump water to the sink from further location.

Another thing to consider is that the weight balance side to side affects handling especially in strong cross winds. Keeping the center of gravity low helps a lot.

Our Grey and fresh tanks are both under the van. I bought these back in Nov of 2024 to replace my current tanks and are the same exact size as the current ones. There is nothing wrong with them but I want to set up some type of better cold weather heating whenever our newer garage gets done and I can get the van a little bit off the ground to get access. The fresh is on the driver side midway and the gray is on the passenger side about a foot past the sliding door. As you can see the gray is a really odd shaped tank configured to fit a 2015 3500 Ext. Dually.

I plan to replace the older ones with these and put newer heat tank heaters, insulation and better heat tape around them and on the bottom of the drain/dump lines. Fresh is 26 gallons and the Grey is 27 gallons.

Where did you get these!? My issue now is the combo of tanks I can find leave me with either 11 gallons grey water or 22. And if I only use passenger side as fresh water I can only find 16 gallon. Adding 10 gallons to our fresh water per trip is great and it being under body. As for grey tank I can fit a 22 gal, and its same price as the 11 gallon I may as well go 22 and probably never even come close to filling or half tank. If I ever add internal shower option it will be no problem.

Class A Customs has tanks that fit, 15 or 16 gal, and a longer one (20 or 22g, iirc).
They're usually cheaper on their own site vs Amazon.

There are lots of ways to make a mounting bracket, but @Spare_Mag_Mike's looks safe and simple, using Unistrut:

Been working great so far. The electronic dump valve came in handy today!!!
