Sub forum for new eSprinter

Looking at the market, the eSprinter has become available since the last poll...and is being assembled in South Carolina, USA. IMHO, an "eSprinter" sub-section under the VS30 group seems like a reasonable request in 2025. There are already a few questions about it showing up in the VS30 section.....

There is never going to be perfect solution to forum build.
For years, on MB sedan forum I was fighting for diesel section as the topic about same engines, used in several different models were spread all over the forum.
Finally administrators build it and members still post diesel topics in car models sections, when transmission topics land in diesel section.
From my observation the forum could use transmission section as well as seems new members can never find important notice about servicing Pilot Bushing on 5G transmissions.
Similar way, crucial information about DEF tanks is getting lost on big forum.
oh well....

Just watch, we'll get complaints in the eSprinter forum about glass cracking when rocks hit them, storage compartments not opening, seats not adjusting properly, the paint not being great, and, of course, the DPF regenerating too much, because of course we will.

With the neutered EPA, they might just as well make reliable ICE vans, that bring in profits, rather than subsidizing people to own an EV.

I dunno if that is an eSprinter specific issue, or a limeyland issue relating to vehicles of that weight class.
I suspect/expect that the details of talking to the ECM/ECU (or whatever it's called) to address it will significantly differ from the ICE models.
... and that's why an eSprinter-specific section would be justified.

There was another eSprinter thread with someone trying to figure out how to charge house/aux batteries a few days ago, IIRC. Most EVs have DC-DC step-down converters from the high voltage traction batteries to power 12V running gear and accessories, and the eSprinter's is apparently limited to a rather generous 40 amps @ 12VDC from what was posted in that thread.

Also, from my EV ownership experience, a battery EV with no combustion engine does not have to provide OBD-II diagnostics since there is no emissions device on board. This could mean that something like a Scangauge is a paperweight on an eSprinter, as could be all generic scan tools. I'm ASSuming that MB-specific scan tools can still do something via their proprietary API, but who knows if any of the aftermarket scanners support the eSprinter?

Whether someone personally likes EVs or not, there are people buying eSprinters. Might as well give them a dedicated sub-section here than alienate them into setting up scattered groups on Fakebook and Reddit.....
