Intermittent electrical issue

Hi guys
2015 2.1 Sprinter.
Intermittently while driving the van will lose all internal and external electrics. Dashboard blank, no lights, radio etc.
After cycling key everything goes back to normal then randomly all electrics die again but van remains running. At this point there is no communication with diagnostic.
After key cycling the diagnostic shows loads of communication faults.
Hoping someone has had this issue before?

Random electrical gremlins can sometimes be solved by unplugging fuses and replugging them. There are a number of threads discussing similar but not exactly the same issues.

You could start by putting a flight recorder into the OBD2 mil plug and record driving activity, reviewing the incidence/glitch by scan tool/lap top etc.

Thank you Dennis, I did try but unfortunately the moment this happens the scan tool becomes no communication. I believe whatever is happening causes the network to drop out hence all the comunication faults after the event.

Yes but with a flight recorder in place you might just pick up the event before you get this shut down occurs.
The other way is to have a knowledgeable assistant with a factory style scan tool reading pids and wave forms in real time including Can-Bus activity.
