Grey water tank removal

If you saw my last post, you see I am stripping all the contents of the JC sprinter to replace damaged and wet sub plywood. I have removed most internals, just the grey water tank out. I have removed the 3 fixing bolts but it's connected via the underside drain point. I am assuming the drain connector is attached to the bottom of the tank by the round upper ring? I have tried turning this with a couple of wrenches but it is stuck tight.Any comments appreciated.

Yes, there is a threaded connection that comes out of the grey water tank, at least it was that way on my van. I had a valterra valve on mine, I can’t recall how I made the connection between the valve and the tank. It required some type of fitting adapter to the 2 1/4” pipe.

You might consider cutting the PVC pipe below the valve and detaching the valve actuator cable. I’d recommend replacing the valve now since those leak after a while.

I had to cut the actuator connection which had a rusted split pin. The ball valve is now off, tank out, wet ply removed and starting to rebuild the van this weekend. I could write a book on this now!

Will do when I get time. I have spent 50hrs so far carefully stripping the JC Westie of all its contents. Currently cleaning all the adhesive off which was used to bond it to the metal base of the van. There was paint blistering, so I caught it at the right time.

Anyone know where I could buy one of the wired extension actuator for opening the waste ball valve ? It's a 2005. I'm in UK
