Water Leak and sub floor damage

Has anyone had any sub floor issues on their JC Sprinter. I believe my water tank overspills when I fill it and water has got through to the plywood sub base. I am looking for information how to remove the whole kitchen unit inc the unit that houses the batteries and water tank. I need to remove as much floor as I can to replace it. Thanks for any help all. Simon

Has anyone come across this valve on the JC Sprinter? I need to get this off but after many attempts to undo various bits and taken to a garage, it is looking like I have to cut this out and try and find a replacement or alternative waste valve. Any ideas appreciated before I get the saw out!
Thanks Simon

What you have pictured is NOT the OEM configuration for the grey water valve, therefore no one on this forum is familiar with what you have and would therefore find it difficult to answer your questions. That said, if you could get a Dremel tool with a cutoff wheel up there and make a couple of vertical cuts through the collar you could potentially break the collar apart and remove the existing valve, which would appear to be a ball valve... Then you could revert to using the OEM components to replace the ball valve. Here is a link that should help you get started with that task. https://sprinter-source.com/forums/index.php?threads/78661/

Thank you so much for your reply. Where are you writing from? My van is German build, imported into UK. I guess what you have concluded must mean that the existing valve has at sometime replaced the OEM config. I have a Dremel and will follow your advice, thank you.

Have you tried holding the valve body firmly then unscrewing the knurled ring on the top in an upwards direction off the valve body?

I'm writing from North America. 99% of the posts on this forum are related to the James Cook NAFTA. While the NAFTA version is very similar to the European version there are some differences. I know for certain that the black water system is different. Our version does NOT have a cassette toilet. It has a 10 gallon permanent tank mounted below the bathroom floor. The toilet is a Thetford Bravura. The plumbing for both the grey water and black water merge together and discharge through a 3 inch flexible hose. Now that I know you have the European James Cook I can understand why your grey tank valve looks different. As I'm not familiar with how the European JC grey water valve is supposed to look I cannot say if what you have is OEM or not, however I suspect it probably is.

Oh yes, but it's locked solid. I have now located a replacement so I am happier to cut it out now, knowing I can replace the ball valve.
