Air Conditioner DC motor

Has anyone replaced the DC motor for the air conditioner with an AC motor? To run the DC motor you have the big AC/DC converter running and are on 110 shore power or 110 generator anyway. The only time the DC is needed is when running off the alternator when driving.

Interesting thought! Knock on wood, so far ours actually still works. For now...
