NCV3 Break-In Oil

When speaking with a Service Tech at Caliber Motors/MB Anaheim CA regarding Assyst and my concern about changing oil at 5,000 miles (08 purchased Oct 2009) and not using the break-in oil for ten thousand miles, I was told.....
"Mercedes doesn't use Break-In Oil."
This comment seems to go against the grain of the concerns many on the forum have had about the premature Assyst notice that is generated by the birth date of their Sprinter rather than a real service need.
Does Mercedes use a Break-In Oil in the NCV3 Sprinters?
Can we wait until 10,000 miles or one year after purchase to do the first oil change and not jeopardize the the warranty?

You can wait 10,000 miles or 2 years to change you oil and not void warranty. Mine was 9,980 miles and almost 2 years to the day when it got done. No problem.

Most if not all just follow the owners manual as they do not want to invest the time on oil study.

I don't think any engine uses " break in " oil today .
It may be used after major engine repairs but no Benz product is shipped with it in the engine from manufacturer

no Benz product is shipped with it in the engine from manufacturer ( not since 1980 to my knowledge )

If shown wrong I'd be shocked

U.S uses shell or a simulate such as Mobil look at the MB data sheets, and my above link from Canada and the U.S for ladson cargo , Passenger vans imported come with oil, likely the MB requisite.stated
I can back this up via Pennzoil USA who are the leading API manufactures of promoting advanced oils for soot control and fuel economy.
