That’s what I used for my van. It’s perfect for that 1/4” on the walls.
@coastie44 Did you do landau plus tweed on your panels? The shallow track flange depth is 6mm, so just curious how well it works with the foam and whether the bottom of the l-track sits flush to the van wall/backing once it’s all tightened down. I’m guessing there would be a little pillowing where the foam is compressed.

I was going to ask you about that steamer you had in your video there! I couldn't tell if you were using it for the upholstery or not. Do you find it helpful for pre-softening the weave or adhesive or?

Also, I remember you saying you use a top feed guy instead (HF brand). I've dialed in my setup for pretty consistent spray patterns now but I feel it's a bit slow for coverage, I might try a different gun to see if I can remedy this for the passengers side of the vehicle. Although I do like being able to set the gun down where ever with the base reservoir & not having to use a stand. I also am going to move a regulator to the gun as well. I have one on the incoming hose but would be nice to add that as a direct variable to see if I can improve this more yet. As always thanks for your kind words and feedback!
Steamer is an upholster's best friend, but i also worked in cycling apparel form most of my life and were invaluable on photoshoots/tradeshows etc. So i have long history with steamers-ha. Steam really loosens the fabric so you can contort it more to your desires. It allows both more stretch and also shrinks. Everytime i do a seat i always steam it and it takes the wrinkles out, but for this type of stuff makes the fabric a lot more pliable.

So i had a suction gun like you use i tried for glue a long time ago, i could not get it to spray reliably with a good pattern. it was an old gun and probably something like a 1.4 tip, i used it to paint a long time ago before HVLP was the norm. the HVLP gravity Gun i am using now is an older cheapo Harbor Freight gun, the good ones from yester year (were like $7.99 on sale). It is also a 1.4 tip but has had gallons of high build primer and paint through it and cleaned 100's of times and sprays glue fairly well (unless glue is cold or older/thicker). bet it is not 1.4 anymore. One time when i was in the US i stopped at HF to buy a few replacement cheapo HF guns and they are not the same as these old standbuys--not nearly as rebuildable/cleanable even if they physically look the same outside. They are also 1.4's and dont spray glue super well. SO, if you get a HVLP i say look for a 1.6-2.2 tip (1.8 probably ideal). Not as cheap as the old HF reliables, but still not terrible (under $50). Its on my list to get one some day, but that darn old HF gun just keeps on going, have to buy replacement cups for it occasionaly at the solvent is hard on them, but........ A lot of painters used to rave about how good those old $7.99 guns actually were, most things at HF are kind of crappy, but not everything. to bad they changed them

Thanks man, I really appreciate that... Honestly, I heard it squeak before I noticed it visually lol.

Had a bit of time to work on some new projects, finally getting caught up after the holidays.

Finished my B-Pillar Lagun mount as always there's just something slightly off about what's available, the new 3D printer makes it super convenient to iterate and get everything right. I wanted something really tight and tucked away when not in use, I also wanted to be able to keep the factory D-ring just in case I ever need to use it. During testing I found that there is plenty of space to tuck it parallel to the pillar & it makes it very nice to be able to lock it in while sitting.

And a quick grab after installing it tonight. Very happy with how it turned out & fits perfectly, now I need to make a table top for it! I will also ship it with an optional D-ring delete nice machined washer I think too, since maybe some people don't want to keep that, but I kind of like how it makes it look even more OEM. As for the logo it's on there so you know where it came from out of the box, but it get's covered up so your van is yours and not a rolling bill board for me :)

Also working on finishing up some trim work. I went with the Terrawagen bits, I think they are much better and low key than the GoCode stuff... love that the ceiling panels are designed to slide under them instead of having the cut outs for the trim kit. Usually tirms trim... not needing trims to cover the gaps for the trims that you had to trim around. I didn't do the piece over the door yet because I want to retain my factory interior light function (seems convenient) so I'm going to modify that, 3D print a light surround and glass it in before upholstering it.

Then had a chance to machine my projector connections. This goes on the ceiling for Audio output to the House Audio head unit, a HMDI cable to play movies or things from the laptop & USB-C power. There will also be an accompanying 1/4-20 mount to be able to get it mounted up there quick.

Image limit... continued.
I received the Lagun table mounts today. Install may have to wait for another week due to other priorities. Well made and feels sturdy. AFAIK there weren’t any other seat base mount options in the market that also works with aftermarket swivels. Thanks for designing these.

Sorry for the late reply. I just left mine as bare hex-ply.

hey Todd!

Thank you for the high quality videos you make, they are an inspiration for me to keep going with my project. I recently bought an item from you and I was stoked to see a hand written message!

On your audio system video you covered the speakers and amplifier but never saw your subwoofer installation.

Question to you: why did you pick the slim Focal Slim 10 over the Flax Evo as the rest of your system? Is it because of not enough space behind the panel?

Note: I would definitely buy from you the bracket that you made for the amplifier, but I guess it was custom made.
