Fuel hoses

Serviced my 2011 CDI 316 a couple of days ago. Tried to change the fuel filter, but couldn't remove the sensor. I also noticed that the fuel hoses a quite soft. I phoned mercedes who quoted $40 for one, and $400+ for the other. This sound extraordinary to me. I have tried to locate some through Bursons, but have had no luck yet.

I wished to change the oils and filter in the gearbox as well, but ran out of time. It looks very much like my Discovery 3, which took about 6 hours work, mainly removing and replacing the sump. I'm not looking forward to this job.

Any suggestions re these issues?
