Northern CA Mega Van Meetup April 1, 2023. This California Van Meetup is being held at Dumbarton Quarry Campground by the Bay beginning at 11:00 a.m. All Class B vans are welcome! Family-friendly event. This is the 4th van meetup that we’ve organized here in Northern CA over the past 2 ½ years, and they keep getting bigger! (Last Summer we had 45 vans gather in Livermore for a great day). Located within Coyote Hills Regional Park and next to the eastern shore of the San Francisco Bay in Fremont, this meetup location is convenient to much of the Bay Area.

This will be a casual get-together. We'll start with lunch in a private picnic area from 11 a.m. to 12 pm. Bring your own food and drinks. We’ll have name tags for everyone and a few ice breakers. At noon we’ll have opening remarks followed by owner-led van tours, and the opportunity for everyone to tell folks about their vans. If you have special tips, tricks, or learnings to share we want to hear it. Anything to swap, give away or sell feel free to bring it along as well!

Camping Option: 78% of the attendees at the previous meetups have asked for camping to be added. We listened! Dumbarton Quarry Campground on the Bay is the Park District’s first full-service campground, complete with 63 campsites, a camp store, an amphitheater, a playground, Wi-Fi, and picnic areas. Chuck and Mary will be in Site #37 (see map) for Saturday night. There is a BBQ area that we’ll use for gathering for dinner.

RSVP
We are strictly limited to the first 50 vans to formally RSVP, and no day-of attendance is available. To help offset the direct costs as well as fees from the park district, we're asking for $5 for each van via Venmo (only). https://bit.ly/NorCalVanMeetup We'll email your confirmation in advance. This meetup will fill up!

On Venmo - Make sure to include your full name(s) and email in the note area. We need this information to send you any updates/changes, and info on where to park your van upon arrival. (Surprisingly, we had tons of van owners that missed the Spring and Fall 2021 meetups, and the Summer 2022, and then sent us messages asking to attend the next one. So don't miss out). Sorry, but no refunds are available.

Note that there is a SEPARATE entrance fee of $5.00, unless you’re camping, then it is included.

Comments from previous meetup attendees:
“The format was great - lunch followed by van tours. Thing we liked best was the general enthusiasm and good energy between the couples.”
“I appreciate the community-building. I’ve been part of online communities for over 25 years, and have seen the value of moving online connections into the real world. Building real-life connection and trust is valuable.”
Seeing everyone's creativity and getting detailed tours and the ability to ask questions as well as experience design decisions in real life
Meeting new people and seeing all the builds.
It was great to meet fellow DIYers, and see all varieties of vans in various stages of build-out.
Getting to see a bunch of vans up close and speak with the owners. I was a bit overwhelmed actually.
“Thanks so much for including us in your event at Homegrown Hops yesterday. This was a first for us, and we had a great time. You've got a great recipe for putting people together, and letting them come together as they wish. Much more relaxing than the vendor-sponsored events with lots of sales teams!”

See you on April 1st!

We are about building community among ALL Van owners, without regard to what type of rig you own. There are lot's of Facebook and web groups that cater to very specific vans (i.e. Winnegabo Solis Owners). We invite all types of vans to join us, including DIY Sprinter, Transit, and ProMaster, as well as every type of manufacturer, including RoadTrek, Winnebago, STO, Thor, Hymer, and Pleasureway. It's about the experience and the adventure, not the rig.

Campervan Owners Meetup - Let's Roll! (7/21)(Sacramento)

I'm organizing a few meetups this year for all of us campervan enthusiasts to connect, share stories, and swap tips on the best camping spots. Our first meetup is set for Sunday, July 21st, at 4 PM at Bike Dog Brewery on Broadway. Bring your campervan, and I'll treat you to a round of beers! 🍻

Beyond that, I'm also gearing up for the Adventure Van Expo in September at Lake Tahoe. It would be awesome if we could get a strong group from Sacramento to create a mini camp there.

Looking forward to meeting fellow campers, van-lifers, and weekend warriors to share some adventure stories and maybe even plan a few new ones together. See you there!

DM me for details and to RSVP.
