Music Worth Listening To

@Tim Hodgson aka "E350" That version is just the four saxophones, though I suspect the odd building acoustics produced some overtones that may have sounded guitar-like. It was recorded at the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex in Essen, Germany, now a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Koyaanisqatsi was quite the interesting film, and with no dialog.

Lagom

Panic in Detroit
In honor of King George’s visit.

Speaking of Elephants.
King Crimson live "Elephant Talk" 1984 A tongue in cheek (but masterful) fusion performance.
And then 40+ years later with Steve Vai playing Robert Fripp's position, it doesn't get much better than that.
Steve is unequivocally the most technically advanced electric guitarist on the planet, like it or not, the skill level is in another galaxy..
4 top level instrumentalists playing intricate difficult odd material.
No computers, background tracks dancers, explosions... Just incredibly tight musicians having fun...
This is fusion, it's what musicians do when they get bored playing formula music....

Original King Crimson Live, (Crappy live mix....)

40+ years later w/ Steve Vai.......

My absolute favorite Saxophone player, David Sanborn:

Tin Tin Deo

Cristo Redentor

Rain on Christmas

Lisa

Hideaway (Live)

Sanborn is good but there are far too many good ones for me to have a favorite. How about Dexter Gordon, Stan Getz, or Bobby Keys?
The Dex:

Stan Getz Solo from The Girl from Ipanema

Bobby Keys Live with The Stones:

When you have time check out Tab Smith who was mostly an un-recognized side man.

Another one of my many favorite sax players is Coltrane, especially on tenor. I'm not much of a fan of alto sax which Coltrane also played but here on Blue Train he is playing tenor. Amazing talent cut short at 40 years old.

I will listen to all of those @bigb
Thank you.

BTW, my Sanborn vinyl burned up in a forest fire. And there is one song on one album which I absolutely love, but I cannot locate it online and I forgot which album and which song it was. So, if you have any suggestions, please share.
