Just drove through to Eastern Quebecistan. Average price was $2.40/ liter. The price didn't come down until Ontario at $2.10/ liter. The jaunt cost almost $500 in fuel.

Looks like a trip on the trans Labrador to Newfoundland is off the table this year.

^^^ Quite frankly, every President since the Islamic Revolution when Iran seized 66 Americans at the U.S. embassy in Tehran on November 4, 1979, and held them for 444 days, "DID THAT!"

Now Trump 47 is doing the dirty work that the previous weenies wouldn't do because they were more interested in being re-elected than doing what was right for the U.S.A. and for the world.

And Trump may in fact lose the mid-terms and be impeached by the House and removed by the Senate and tried for war crimes and executed or Epsteined in prison.

But Trump 47 has the guts to do what is right despite the fact that it might cost him his Presidency and his life.

Time is running out as oil reserves drop.

My, kind of out of my ass prediction, is there will be some kind of trigger event, maybe some kind of economic data report or a renewed military strike that causes oil to rally to somewhere between $150-200.

After that all bets are off.....

Price of diesel in Eastern Canuckistan is $1.98/liter today.

Found fuel all over New Mexico for $4.89 to $5.19 but as soon as I got home to Tucson I'm seeing $5.69. Deming was the lowest at $4.89. The Las Vegas area was $5.19. Santa Fe was a bit more at $5.49 but I planned it so I wouldn't need any there as they have always been the highest in the state.

I know that a lot of people still consider this 'winning' but upcoming $10/gal diesel plus fertilizer shortages can only mean inflation is going to go through the roof.

Seems the only way to end this madness is to apply more madness to the situation which would include troops on the ground.

I wonder how many now wish they had a time machine so they could go back and change their vote....

I have to apologise for interrupting our regularly scheduled banter for an on topic post, but I just paid $4.89 for diesel/

I also decided to run my Fuelly miles tracked vs my odometer, and noticed that it is off by 12 miles; I added a 12 mile trip at 28.1 mpg and a fuel cost of 0. In retrospect, I should have logged it at .001 gallons rather than trying to offset the average, since that is probably the truth.

No, it’s a BP station just south of the 6A Turnpike exit onto 130 in Florence. It’s the station I use 90% of the time. Their main diesel business is 18-wheelers.

I was driving I-90 past Ellensberg WA and saw a station with a good price (for WA, that is). The signs and pumps had no info about the diesel, so I assume it was #2, but I wasn't sure. Big station, they were fueling semis at the high volume pumps.

Not wanting to take a chance, I passed on the opportunity since I figured I could make it home and fill at Costco. Wife took the wheel and complained about my decision when the fuel light came on, while crawling through Bellevue, and then again when the gauge hit zero, but we made it with 3.5 gal to spare according to SGII.

So, if it just says "diesel" with no stickers, can you assume it's #2?

I rarely see anything but #2 diesel but I do live in a warm climate. Not sure why you would want anything else unless you are in freezing weather.

On the east coast, I try to avoid truck stops. Loves, BP, most of the travel plazas usually sell either B5 or B20.

This place just labels it as diesel. It is not historically a cheap station, but it is one of the few stations in my area that allows one to self pump, and doesn't look like its diesel sales volume is such that I'll get winter blend in August and summer blend in February.

Prices dropped sharply recently; my last fill up, same station, was $5.29. Its not the only one.

I don't buy diesel, except in extenuating circumstances, from stations where the diesel pumps aren't on a separate island than the gas pumps. This is partly to avoid that problem, and partly because in NJ, generally as a rule of thumb, separate islands are pump your own, combined islands are you-gotta-let-the-pump-jockey-do-it, especially when the pump is in the same housing as the gas pump. They have the same locked pump interface that requires an employee card to activate it.

Having had more than one argument in Rudolf about how my car does, in fact, take diesel, not gas, with pump jockeys who walked away rolling their eyes and acting like they assumed I was still mistaken, I avoid those kinds of interactions like the plague. And lets keep in mind that that idle sound difference between Rudolf's OM606 and a gas car are orders of magnitude more apparently different than an OM654 and a M274.

By law the lack of additional labeling is supposed to indicate that it is #2 Diesel with no more than 5% biodiesel content.

I have also occasionally played the fuel roulette game to make my favorite re-fuel spot. I can have confidence, but there is always the possibility of something unexpected happening.
