Just be carful with home adapters on these fuel bottles. I was running a portable fire ring that was meant to use 20 pound tanks with 1 pound bottles..everything was going along great.

But when I wanted to disconnect the 1 pound bottle it split at the connection between two adapters and came loose instead of the actual bottle. This left unregulated propane spewing out, hitting the hot fire ring, and made a makeshift flamethrower.

Needless to say, I was a bit concerned, grabbed the flaming bottle and threw it towards a clearing in the pasture. I’m not doing that again!! I got very lucky..

Not sure this post applies to this thread but I recently snagged the wiper arm washer fluid spray head with a rag while wiping down the windshield and broke it. I failed in several attempts with super glue, gorrilla glue, etc. to try and fix it but the plastic used simply will not bond. I stopped into the dealer and was quoted $38 for what is likely a 10 cent piece to make in quantities. AliExpress has them for under $4 for quantity 2. I doubt these are identical to the original and may have only two spray holes not 3 but I can make this work.

I've been looking for a while for a portable, self-contained sink like this since I don't have a proper water system and my build is very modular / noncommittal. Only thing that is a big downside is how small the fresh and waste tanks are. "Mysteriously" popped up on my Instagram...

Thanks for posting that. 👍🏽
That’s actually a good idea for a temp build or work van/occasional weekender.
It‘d be nice to see a 12v usb pump version and add on fresh and grey water tanks to expand the system.
It could be an identical looking box with the cans and connections integrated.
I’m sure those can be diy’d as add ons though.

Just looked on Amazon, they have a shower nozzle / hose attachment too.

Seriously can't believe how hard something like this is to find...

I'm actually looking for the old fashions sprayers that just mounted in the hood, or possibly making the kind that fits under the hood and is just flattened brass tubing.
The sprayers on the arm are one of the stupidest ideas I have seen, totally Rube Goldberg method for getting water on the windshield with the most amount of parts imaginable!

make your own.
i finally made something to wash my hands and draw fresh water. i grew tired of the bulky 3gal container banging against the side and me dribbling water on the floor.

build one like the boxio and will probably lead you to a better “final build”.
my cost was: tank + basin + pump = $120
although 20series extrude and fastenrs was extra. but its my spec versus versus having to work with a boxio design. pump is battery powered.

This guy makes some novel vanlife stuff, some of it's a bit cheesy but we got the Carsule from them and used it quite a bit with our Ford Transit Connect before upgrading to our Sprinter.
Last time we used the Carsule, we brought a electric oven and used the tent next to our Sprinter, keeping it a clean room for food:

Not sure if the shower system would work, but hey, it's something worth thinking about if you can make it yourself and use a little bit of water.

Yes, I've considered that and like working with 8020. But also takes time to plan and build, and it might be a little harder to build something very compact and movable.

Outside Van has a new rear step and wheels, and an under-mount replacement tire carrier to fit larger tires.
(Thanks to @dddrks for mentioning)

The wheels have an interesting feature, a removable ”rock ring.”
the removable rock ring allows you to easily replace any damage or scuffing down the road. Replacement rock ring sold separately.“

Replaceable beauty rings to make sure our fake bead locks stay looking good.. oh boy!

Granted, I have rims that have the fake bead lock like 99.9% of other sprinter owners. At the time I changed my rims. I couldn’t find any bead locks with the correct lug pattern, load rating for a dually and proper offset in stock. I wish real bead lock rims, were a little easier to find, especially with the heavy load rating.

We really can’t get enough fake bead lock …

But seriously I’m not planning to go places I need to drop air that low. But yeah sometimes shid happens.
Tire and wheel technology is improving to reduce losing bead as well… at least that’s what the manufacturers claim anyway.

Similar to the OWL step. Looks nice, pro and con with each.
Yeah I’m sure John at Owl had some choice thoughts / words when he saw that step.
Imnsho the Owl version looks slightly better, but the Outside Van version has a turned down edge so as to reduce the chance of a not so nice shin, knee, or thigh contusion.
But I’d still rather have either the one from FVC, or a similar one I saw a while back from somewhere… but the name escapes me.

The cruelest dream, reality.

Yup. So if you knee wack it the OV one is better but if you drag it off road the OWL won’t act like a shovel. And the OWL looks like an F35 tail so there’s that too.
