Thing is seemingly there are van upfitters who continue to use their products. There are several YT videos showcasing mew van builds clealy using the Nomad A/Cs.

Yes, because they drank the koolaid. Nomadic moved from Glendale Az to that RV industry mecca Elkhart Indiana to be where the RV action is apparently.

Buy nomadic stuff if you wish, but they underperform and apparently don’t last. Their warranty solution is to offer you 20% off a new overpriced unit. 🤣

Given their reputation and performance, our 12v a/c solution will be a CountryMod unit. Why?

Assuming risk of failure and performance is better than or equal to a Velit 2000R/ Nomadic and ignoring install time…

1) It can be purchased and easily returned on Amazon.
2) It appears to be identical in manufacture to the Velit 2000R unit.
3) It is 1/2 the cost of Velit and almost 1/3 the cost of a Nomadic version.
4) I can buy a 3-year warranty on Amazon for $250 and expect better outcomes.
5) some Velit parts are interchangeable, like the control panel.
6) And if the CountryMod fails a complete replacement is still less than either ~2 Velits or ~3 Nomadic copies.

My big issue with 12v in general is it sucks away your shore or generator charging ability.

I trust your comment given you operate in Jacksonville so would you mind clarifying what you mean? There are many Use cases so learning more with your experience is genuinely appreciated.

When you use a 110v AC unit and are plugged into shore power or a generator, the inverter passes through that power from the power source, in addition to charging your batteries at 120 amps, 12 VDC (if a MultiPlus 3000, for example)

With a 12v AC (ill use the x3 that i tested for example) In the same scenario, when plugged in, the inverter is now just running the 80a the AC Unit is requiring on 12v and only charging the batteries best case at 40a.

If you are driving every day, it isn't an issue, as your second alternator would put out more than enough current to run the AC while driving and charge the batteries for your overnight use. But stay in one place for a bit boondocking with a generator, and you are quickly in a power deficit in hot environments.

We offered black, grey, and white colorways for our interior products for a long time. We certainly could continue, but there is not enough demand based on years of sales data. Certainly appreciate the back handed comment about our manufacturing though!

So I wasn't wrong, though. It is a ton of skus, and takes up a bunch of space. The point is, for US MFG, it's easy to do a different color when you can pump it out quickly locally. That's how we can do custom colors for our Dinette packages. It's just a fact of reality.

You are absolutely right, if we were a smaller company that manufactured domestically on a made to order basis, we could absolutely offer custom colors. I wish we could offer that!

We do keep an eye out here and are receptive to feedback from the community though!

I don’t recall seeing this alternative to the Isotemp Slim Square type water heaters. This one is 2.65gal/10L vs 4.2 gal but a 2.65 would likely get a lot of people by especially if using a tempering valve.

Operates on 12V or 120vac.

Interesting you found this item. I contacted the distributor for this product in April 2025 to confirm if they sold this product. They confirmed they did and were willing to sell it to me for $395+shipping from Elkhart. It's a compelling product that's also commonly purchased in Australia. Given we like our ARB products so much we figured if Australia liked it, why not here?
