Thoughts on mounting design?

@jmasse posted some pics:
Also stopped by Avatar Vans and they took care of the spare tire rack and ladder for the rear. Also got their hood struts. I may be adding a Massif and Niko Box to the passenger side, but only if I need the space after the upfit.

HIGHLY Recommend Avatar. It is a whole family and it's made by them in their shop. It was awesome to see the operation and their passion for quality.

Same as agile offroad, without reinforcing

There Can Be Only ONE
Is that a second mounting point down below the emblem mount area? Hard to tell from the Avatar pics. If so then it’s a step in the right direction.

My take on single point mounting (besides the hinges) is: all the force when latching is transferred to that given one small point. Even if you close the door gently, less than ideal when compared to 3 mounting points such as RRE (and maybe Backland?).

Having the Agile driver side inner door brace can help to reduce flex of the door, but the outer skin is where the force is and that door skin is prone to cave in that situation. I’m surprised nobody is making a brace for the passenger side, since that side gets much more use in most cases. Both interior and exterior braces would be ideal though some obviously may not like the look outside.

Maybe coming soon, an exoskeleton rear door carrier design, or half spyder” mounting system distributing closing force. Lol

I’ve been kicking around the idea of supporting my passenger side carrier with some legs that are glued to the skin and clamped to the tubing on rack ladder, top and bottom to give myself a more solid feel.

granted my setup has a massive plate contacting the door and has 2 bolts though bolted into door framing. It’s already very solid for what I’ve got hanging. But could always improve and realistically it’s a simple design to beef it up.

Does anyone have experience with the Wanderful floor mats? When I ordered on Black Friday for a decent discount, they said the mats would be delivered in January then without update they changed the website to February, When I asked about it, they said now it’s end of March delivery. For what seems like a product with photos and good reviews (although appears Wanderful has fake review numbers like WTA) I thought they had already completed the design, but they’re telling me there’s failed Velcro and they’re no longer able to deliver for two more months. I’m considering canceling my order, requesting a refund based on their bait and switch and holding my money, unless someone says they’re worth an indefinite wait. This is on top of the vent cover that had broken stitching and they initially told me to take it to my seamstress, after a second request, a replacement was sent with Amazon tracking which stopped updating December 29. And the replacement vent has never been received. I’m not in love with Wanderful….
Do their mats have snaps to the oem floor buttons or do they rely on Velcro, I can’t tell from their photos.

I would cancel, that owner of that company sounds like a pretty shady dude.
Thanks, are you basing that on my post or other readings/experience? I do agree. They also don’t sign the emails with a name and all responses are canned, shit AI drafts.

Just do a chargeback. This is a dishonest business, or one that can't find their ass with both hands. Either way, avoid.

Thanks team. No charge back needed, that was one of the quickest refunds processed. Pre-ordering mats in full was dumb, never again. Financing someone’s production that has QAQC issues from the beginning, also dumb. I didn’t see anything bad about them on here

One vote for Overnight Van Supplies covers. Ordered a full set on Black Friday pricing and they seem great so far; good fit, no light leaks. Windshield cover comes with 4 metal tabs that you slide on to the headliner, so the cover magnets to those instead of needing to use the visors. I had a Van Essential windshield cover prior and this is way better.

Only the 4 season version, the regulars are all pretty much the same across all makers. Go with cheapest that has decent magnets
Sure, but why would you not want the 4-seasons? It blocks heat better in the summer, keeps it warmer in the winter. Granting, in my application storage is not one of my problems (I screwed metal strips Paul gave me to the OEM- not factory, I bought it used- headliner, and magnet the things to them when not in use). They are endlessly better than the scheiße I got from Quest Overland, anyway.

Can one sell me on these floor mats? I’m not exactly sure why one would want this style of mat vs a weather tech or the likes… maybe it’s a cultural difference. But I’m getting my vans teeth kicked and my boots are always tracking in some red dirt. So I know these aren’t for me. But why would someone else want them?

I guess maybe sandy environment but still not seeing how it’s better. Definitely not better for the ski hill parking lot… idk maybe just not getting it… please feel free to elaborate.
