Power door belt?

Went to open my door the other morning and it got jammed up on something. So after some fiddling I saw that it was the belt. It was bound up in the door catch area.
just had it at the dealer and they tightened it up, no noises at all. Then this happens?
10k miles on thevan, appointment November 1 for repair.
anyone else run into this? Just wondering how I would prevent it in the future.

I have over 50k on my 2019 with power slider and have never had that happen. I have had to lube it up in a few places though.

I had the same happen on a 2019 4x just last week. Between myself and the dealer, we have no clue as to its cause. The bad news is it’s a $2300 fix.
I’ve been using the door in manual mode as I await the parts, but the door is heavy enough, and willing to slide on the least uneven surface, that it feels unsafe with kids around.

2300?! Yeww, I’m hoping warranty will cover seeing how it’s only been 1 year? Crazy I expected more from MB.

My door belt broke back in August while on a cross country trip. I used in manual mode until i got home and I was able to get an appointment at the dealer. Fixed under warranty without issue (only 10k on the van). I’m starting to think of getting an extended warranty for peace of mind just in case this happens again.

Mine was fixed under warranty the first time. Now I wait for appointment and parts.
If it happens a third time - I want my $800+ back for that option!

I know there are more folks on the site if you search for previous posts with the same problem we have.
I read them the first time it broke.

I did a serch, I could only find the “noisy door” posts which mine has been good since they adjusted it. I’m sure I used the wrong wording

Like others..You will find that quality and fit/finish is fairly low on the MB priority list with these vans.
Due to lack of time my 2022 hasn't seen many miles (3k) but the sliding door belt just snapped. I am super pissed about this. I suspect they also had pandemic-era attrition in the factory so I look forward to many more problems....

When I had the dealership replace the sliding door belt under warranty, the very first time I opened it picking it up, it did an "door obstruction" error and popped right back open. I WTFd and should have just walked back in but it was the end of the day and my ride was already gone. It closed just fine on retrying.

Since then it was only sporadically reproducible, most often when the hot sun beat directly on it in the evening. However while on a road trip it happened more often and actually got stuck in a partially closed state where it would not cinch in to lock (the assist) but did not automatically reopen. I took it in again and they decided the motor was bad and replaced it. Under warranty so I guess cool cool.

The very next day it baked in the sun again and reported a door obstruction automatically reopening. I kept it for the weekend but then took it back to the dealership, and right now they are unable to reproduce the problem all day (weather has been cooler). I'm not sure what to say about this.
