The mystery is how it got up there.

I used my Speak & Spell to phone a friend for help..... :ROFLMAO:

Look mate, it's fine to promote your own business here, but that's a tad passive-aggressive. One advice - invest into SEO, google is not showing your site.

Ive been wondering why no one makes a 3d printed panel in this area like Toyota people do. It would make it so much nicer and cleaner in the cab and it’s a huge area to take advantage off.

There's actually quite some prints of frames on https://www.thingiverse.com/, https://www.printables.com and https://makerworld.com/en . You can get some standard (or custom) rockers from amazon or ali.
This one looks neat:

The person who posted the switches advertisement is not the same as the person who posted the "3D printer and Autodesk design tool" reply to the person who mused about the possibilities of a panel.

Those don’t look bad. But with all the switch panels like auxbeam etc you would think they would have already done so. I’ll try to find someone local with a printer and come up with something

Bambu Labs and Autodesk are not so customer friendly. Choose them if you want your designs to not be your own and require the cloud to work and pay for a subscription for what used to be free. Throw in a nice dose of litigiousness.

Mark
Are you not happy with your Bambu printer? What issues are you experiencing with yours? Mine has been flawless with more than 600hrs of print time, most of my creation.

I don't have a Bambu. I don't have an issue with the quality of their printers. Their customer service, privacy policies and requirement for using the cloud and threatening an open source programmer are what I don't like.

Autodesk is well known for buying up free CAD software and migrating it to a subscription. I don't like their business practices.

Mark

More like what did my Sprinter do to me. A front passed last night, accompanied by about 3 hours of moderate to heavy rain. After having water dripping straight onto my head while trying to sleep, I now understand why some people consider waterboarding to be a form of torture! :(

I ran into a slight problem when running the power wires to my sky light ;) project yesterday, and didn't get around to hanging the inside panel that bolts to the outside unit and compresses the foam gasket that seals the opening. There was a 1/4" gap between the foam gasket and DIYvan.com AC roof adapter that was allowing the rain to seep in.

TL;dr - My DW and I just ran the power wire (yes, before sunrise!), and bolted the inside panel into place. The foam gasket should now be compressed. I also hooked up the 120V power input, and only have three plugs left to connect before turning the power on and performing the mandatory electrical smoke test to see if it works and makes cold:

This is a good looking cover, but what does this one offer over the other brands, except price?

How do you check the fluid level?

Price was the big driving factor, Yukon had a discount code and free shipping that VC didn’t.

Also, I like the large fill port that Agile doesn’t doesn’t have, so a win win.

The top fill and side level check port is pretty nice to use laying on your back under the van.

”…requirement for using the cloud…” is patently false and you would know that if you did your homework. That alone leads me to believe you are not familiar with the 3d printing experience.

@gas_sprinter I was delighted to see your photo. Thank you very much for posting this. I have been planning to fabricate something like it for windsurf boards or two whitewater kayaks.

Is this a product for sale? If so, would you post up a URL? If you DIY'd it, would you mind posting up additional photos?

I grabbed this photo from the internet to show the black rear hinges.

But here is the link to the rear surf rack from Sandy Vans: https://sandyvans.com/products/sv-surf-rack?_pos=1&_sid=4bfd2a884&_ss=r

The robotics teams I work with have been using Bambu printers; my wife and I worked on the set up for them. The printers are outstanding values, and at least the model that I have used can be set up to work all locally and avoid the cloud service. Using Home Assistant and an Integration for the Bambu printers even makes them monitorable both locally and remotely (assuming one has remote monitoring set up in Home Assistant); even the camera view showing production progress works.

Autodesk has its pluses and minuses, and killing off free products does suck. The teams have used Autodesk products, but aren't right at the moment (for robot parts). The product that are using slips my mind right now (that's one of the things my wife focuses on). The students use Autodesk Fusion360 in the high school's classes (that do CAD), and Onshape for robotics team work.
