Transmission Leaking Fluid After Dealer Service - Keep Driving or Leave it With Dealer?

I recently had my transmission flushed while my 2018 Sprinter was in for an Ad Blue System repair. After bringing the vehicle back home I noticed home several small 3” or so oil spots under the transmission in my driveway. The largest was 6-8” in diameter. I have put about 1,000 miles on it now since the service and it is still leaking, more so when parked facing down hill. The dealer has been unwilling to schedule me in to repair their error, asking me to leave the vehicle with them for several weeks until they can get to it. This involves a 6 hour round trip to drop the vehicle with a bus ride home. Any solutions to this problem? It appears to be leaking from the front of the transmission. I don’t think there is anyway to check the level.

This is easy
Consult a transmission specialists and have it inspected and diagnosed .
Then call the dealer in question with the findings and if it was their fault ask for reimbursement or compensation to put it right.
Its what they do if the boot was on the other foot.
Best of luck
Dennis

Let us know how it turns out. If it turns out to be the dealer's fault and they won't put you to the front of the line that's not right and you should tip us off as to the dealership. Meanwhile there is a way to check the fluid, you have to purchase a Mercedes dipstick which you use for service only, it does not stay in the tube. You can buy more plugs and seals to reseal the tube and they even come with some dipsticks. If you are willing and able you could crawl under there with brake cleaner and rags and get it all cleaned up then watch to see where it starts from. You could also power wash everything at the car wash including the cross member to see if it's residual but it doesn't sound like it is.

Thanks Guys,
Mercedes Benz of Westminster, Colorado performed the transmission service at 46,361 miles: oil filter, seal ring, lock pin, elastomer-mol, screw plug. They recommended that I have them perform the service while they had it in for the ad blue system warranty repair. I was having no issues with it prior to their service. I notified them of the leak at 46609 miles, 248 miles after their service. I can’t see how it’s not their fault. They have not been willing to move me up in their line at all. I am dropping it off tomorrow and told them I will pick it up on June 8.

Related. 1. Found MB dealer to be unfriendly and not trustworthy.
2. They will rape your wallet.
Trans leaks. I am assuming there must be a weep or overflow exit somewhere up front of the trans. But would like more info.
Serviced my '16 trans. at Blue Ridge truck and auto, Va. Home on a Friday and watched fluid leak all weekend, wondering if there would be enough to drive it back. Mech. had cross threaded 3 of 6 bolts, seal was leaking badly. They did it over, better but still beyond high mark for hot, when cold. So, pulling a trailer w/ a mower inside, got home w/ fluid all over front of trailer. Long story, but, you must buy a stick to measure fluid.
A UTUBE vid 'donsoil' is perfect if you want to know your trans fluid change.
Me, I'm still wanting to know where the fluid is expelled when overfull. After watching, I ordered and ready to do it until a friend recommended BRTA.
Blue refunded and still put the orig . mech. on it to check fluid. The local mgr. values mechanics more than customers. Even when they, well, he doesn't care if they screw, most customers are idiots.

Hey Dan. Curious to know what the diagnosis of your trans leak was. I have the exact same problem. 2018 trannie was serviced by a dealer in California while I was traveling. A 1000 miles later and a few states away it’s leaking. The original dealer is willing to take responsibility for the leak but the dealer where I’m at now is backed up for a month.
