Turning off Go Power to remove batteries

Hi,

I would like to turn off my Go Power (GP-PWM-30) unit so that I can remove the coach batteries. There is a “Kill Switch” but the Go Power unit does not appear to be connected to it. I believe there is a fuse in the back of the batteries but I cannot get to it.

Any suggestions on how to turn off my Go Power unit?

Thanks

I have disconnected my solar connections at the battery and it didn't cause any harm to my controller, but I only have a 100 watt panel.

If it's only a controller (no battery of its own), just throw a thick blanket over the solar panel(s).
I put a fuse block between my controller and all of its inputs/outputs ... i can selectively disconnect by yanking the appropriate fuse(s).
BlueSea Fuse Block 5035 $35 (individual circuits, not all bussed to a single positive feed).

Thanks for your replies.

So it seems that there is no quick and easy way to turn the Go-Power off. I think I see the fuse in the back of the batteries, but I can not reach it.

i replaced my batteries (with same) - I ignored the GOPower side which has two 100 flex panels and nothing happened when I reconnected the batteries +added a shunt. Still works as the display reads similar amp then what I see on the shunt.
You could take out the 4 screws on display and pull a wire back there if you want to do something to stop the flow.

You might consider adding a Simple switch to the GoPower red 10 awg Solar + wire. Buy these items, https://www.amazon.com/Jtron-Disconnect-Waterproof-Motorcycle-NO-OFF-OUT/dp/B01GDYGQJA and https://www.amazon.com/dp/B086TZKQ31. A Quick Change Step Drill Bit, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098TQJD1S make the installation easy. Then add the switch in line on the positive solar panel power wire by cutting the ends off the cables and use a yellow wire nut to connect one cable to the solar panel power wire, wrap the wire nut and a
Part of the wires with electrical tape to add security, then connect the remaining wire into the GoPower Solar + terminal and you have a way to turn off your solar panels.

Here is a guide for adding a solar panel power disconnect switch to your current GoPower Solar system.

SSTraveler,

Sorry for the long delay - I'm "on the road" so getting internet can be tricky...

Thanks for taking the time tell me what parts to buy. One last question on the ON-Off switch. How do you secure this switch to the wall?

I really appreciate your help.

I'm not really sure what you are asking, the Jtron switch has a threaded body with a large plastic nut ring. You use the quick change step bit I recommended and drill the correct size hole in the location on the panel where your solar controller is mounted. Then remove the nut ring, put the switch body through the hole, and then tighten the nut ring again the panel to secure the switch to the hole location. Be careful when drilling that you don't make the hole to big. I wrap some blue painters tape around the step drill bit at the diameter measurement I want and then it is easy to see when the bit drills the hole size I wanted. If you are unfamiliar with using this type drill bit just drill a little and test frequently that the switch body just fits into the hole you make. Also if you cover the area you'll be drilling with painters tape you'll get a cleaner finished hole.
