black bracket behind driver seat

I have just purchased a 2004 MB Cruiser, by Forest River, and there is a black bracket in the floor behind the driver seat. I do no know what was supposed to be stored there, but whatever it was, is missing. I at first thought it to be a scissor jack, but accidentally found the tool storage compartment under the passenger feet area.
Can anyone tell me what was supposed to be stored there?

The black box behind the seat is used to store reflective triangles used as lane markers in the event of a breakdown. Forest River did not include them.

There is also a bracket on the left side of the drivers seat, on mine, used to fasten an upright fire extinguisher. Forest River mounted the FE on the wall of the cabinet behind the seat instead.

Great, thanks, I was about to buy a scissor jack, until I found the bottle jack. I believe that I will now wash it, as I have driven it 3,500 miles in 9 days.

you might do well to download that year's Sprinter owner's manual from:
http://www.dodge.com/owners/index.html

It doesn't explain the triangle holder, but it does tell you about the tool kit...
(that little bottle jack is kind'a special: it's a telescoping tube with a few inches more than the usual travel.)
Proper placement for the lift points is vital.
