How did you finish the inside? Did you get the interior trim kit (or do they just come with a kit)? It’s pretty unclear on the websiteI recently installed them. I like the Panzer angles over the alternative Sherman curves from flares.
Nothing to compare them to really, but it was fairly straight forward. Driver side was easier than the passenger. Passenger is a bit harder due to the door slider/ slider trim. Used more Urethane to fill the gap on passenger side. Driver side is pretty wide.
Build quality seems very good. I had mine painted to match.
Thanks, I forgot to include a link!
They don't come with any trim and I don't think they make an interior trim ring. Not sure how the existing Flare trim rings would work. For now I used 2 sizes of edge trim to cover the edge between the van and the capsule. I covered the inside capsule with 1/4 foam and plan on covering that with fabric. These are definitely more DIY than the other option. How did you finish the inside? Did you get the interior trim kit (or do they just come with a kit)? It’s pretty unclear on the website
They will notWould these work on a 2006 sprinter van, 158” wheel base?
thanks!
They do offer a trim kit. You just have to reach out to them directly. They don't come with any trim and I don't think they make an interior trim ring. They come with capsules, 3 tubes of urethane, and a V nozzle. No instructions, just the video. I didn't use their urethane as I wanted to use a urethane primer that was the same brand as the urethane. I'm not 100%, but I think primerless urethanes are more for glass. I wanted to use specific primer.
Great pictures. How long does it take you to install and is there any drying time that you have experience? Or can you build around them?Hey everyone! First post to the forum and I'm happy to be here. I wanted to talk a little about our experience with the Vanspeed Capsules because I work for Levity Vans in Santa Cruz, CA and we have used both Flarespace and Vanspeed, and we now exclusively use Vanspeed Capsules for our full builds. We've run into several issues with Flarespace's shipping times and have received a lot of incorrect orders from them in the past. Flarespace is still a great company and we have a great relationship, but time is money and it was beginning to become a hassle having to send back incorrect flares and trim rings.
We found the Vanspeed Capsules earlier this year and have since totally transitioned to using them. We include them on all of our trim models and absolutely love them. The capsules are shaped more like a trapezoid than a pie slice, meaning that you get a uniform depth the entire length of the capsule, as opposed to the Flares. We also love the way they look! Not to mention, Vanspeed is an incredible company to work with and they make wicked cool parts.
I don't work for Vanspeed, I've just had the privilege of working with both the flares and the capsules and both respective companies. Both are great companies but Vanspeed is who we have decided to work with moving forward and we haven't looked back!
I'm happy to go into more depth if you want, just let me know! Cheers,
-Reece

Hi Reece,Just replying to my message from last week. We just installed a Flarespace Flare on a Ford Transit and the flare doesn't match the stamping on the Transit??. Unfortunately the last several flares that we have received from Flarespace have had this problem. It seems like their quality control just isn't as good as it used to be. I don't want to dog on Flarespace, but I also want to be honest and help people make educated decisions when purchasing parts for their van. Attached is a picture of the misshaped flare, it's about ½" too short in the front. You can clearly see that the flare doesn't match the stamping of the Transit, which is very unfortunate.
Let me know if you have any questions!

Why not?They will not
Uhh… perhaps because it’s a different van body?Why not?
window Cut out section on the 158” is longer, same height.. not seeing why it wouldn’t fit..and on the 158”, you’d be able to run the deeper one on the door side, since the door doesn’t go back to the rear window cutout area..Uhh… perhaps because it’s a different van body?
