J51 Option Added in San Diego?

I have yet to officially hear a dealer add J51 on a 907, since it is not listed as a retrofit item on Xentry. And it is not the same as a 906 where it is just cluster coding. Let me know if I'm mistaken on this......
Unfortunately mistaken. Lots of dealers on west coast adding the J51 option code to vdoc's on 907s which weren't built with J51, for vans getting a big fuel tank. See my post #25 above. 220817a has ghosted on further theories to his post #21.

Okay, then it must be a custom request from the Shop foreman to add to Vedoc. I know dealers around here do not provide this service in SoCal. Thank you for the clarification :)

Yes, I believe the foreman needs to get involved. German processes you know.
I guess this is why the Pacific Northwest continues to rock, while San Diego stays classy LOL.

How do you know if you have the J51 installed?
My van (passenger) has an OEM 18k btu heater booster from the factory. It's a VS30 2021 4x4.
Thanks?

Ask your Mercedes dealer to look at your van's data card, using your VIN #, to see if J51 is on your build list.

Or run your VIN through one of the many FREE VIN look up sites that have been listed on here previously, do not pay as you will get duff info!

I haven't found any VIN decoder to be helpful anymore. Vindecoderz used to be the best I found, but now they don't show any useful info such as build specs or vehicle option codes. Anyone have a VIN decoder that provides this?

I view all the vin decoder sites as data gathering entities, like pretty much everything else it seems.
Nothing is free.
But hey I could be wrong.

Seems odd to me that if the van is pre ‘23 we can’t get the data card build sheet info off the MB site.

https://www.lastvin.com/

thus one gives me an error message. says my 2021 is to new and not in system...🤔
So try one of the other sites:
To get a free copy of your datacard, ask at the MB parts desk, or submit your VIN to any one of:
https://www.datamb.com/ , https://www.lastvin.com/ , http://mbepc.net/f/vin/ http://mb.vin/
If the datasite you visit shunts you off to AllData ... DO NOT PAY FOR A COPY!!! (it will NOT have the data the other sites will provide)
