Dashboard Pockets with lids!!!!

Who hates the dashboard pockets on the drivers side & passenger side?

Issues with the open dash pockets:

Reflections on windscreen from whatever you’ve stashed in them.

Whatever you leave in the pocket is on display for thieves to eye up.

They look untidy whenever you put anything in them.

If you spill a drink in the outer cup holders you destroy the SAM unit or Ignition module.

The lip closest to the windscreen makes access to anything in the pocket crap.

I absolutely despise them!!!

Alas fellow VS30 captains there is an OEM solution from Mercedes Benz’s parts department.........

Stowage compartments with lids, to match the centre stowage compartment!!!!!

Behold...........

Part numbers:

LEFT SIDE: A910 680 07 00

RIGHT SIDE: A910 680 08 00

Option number: FJ5

I read about these units in the optional extra list (£90), then amazingly found a pair on eBay.

I paid £150 for the pair delivered, which is a really good deal.
I don’t know how much they are at the parts counter.............

They tidy up the dashboard no end, the dash from left to right is flush now.

Sprinter Man Sam is happy!!!

I hope that some of you find this info helpful.

Thanks, Sam.

Nice find! So they just install instead of the other pockets?
Pull out the tweeter cover remove one screw under the tweeter cover, pull up the plastic lip running parallel to the windscreen, remove two more screws holding the storage tray into the dashboard.

Pull the tray up firmly and the spring clips will release it.

Reverse assembly with the new hinged storage tray, omit the lip you removed earlier as it’s not needed now.

10-15 minutes per side.

Job done.

Thanks, Sam.

Great find! I hate the glare on the windshield from anything not mat black sitting in the dash. I find myself not using it and storing things above my visor instead. I'm going to buy some.

You are awesome OP. Anyone have better pictures for installation :)
It’s really really easy.

FJ5 is missing from the MY20 Sprinter DOG, fwiw.
I still plan to try to order it though.
