Default another air conditioning question?

Hey everyone
I have a 02 t1n and the a.c. sometimes works however the vents at the top ALWAYS blow ice cold even if I have the heat on. The vents that blow in my face only seem to blow cold when I'm idling and thats only 50% of the time. the other 50% of the time they blow outside temperature and heat only works when I'm constantly moving. Also when i stop my engine and click "rest" the vents blow warm for 20 seconds then get cool.

to top that off I only have two fan setting and those settings are off and high. I have read numerous posts about similar issues but none quite like mine. My main concern is keeping my 12 year old dog cool when it's hot out. All advice on this will be greatly appreciated thank you!

The two vents on the top are *only* fed by the air conditioner (and outside air).
They're never heated by the Sprinter.

This is described in the Owner's Manual, which you can download from http://aie-services-2.net/Sprinter/

Your "two-speed fan" is almost 99.9% due to the failure of the thermo fuse on the blower resistor unit.
Replacing the resistor block (a part from MB) or replacing the thermo fuse would most likely fix it.

heck yeah! my dog will appreciate it very much and so will I. my lady too... meh lol. Hey I still have the issue of my a.c. rarely working out of the vents that spray in my face. What could that be? the top vents always blow ice cold even when it's cold out

The top vents are A/C or ambient air only. NO heat. If your have intermittent heat out of the vents it is usually caused by one of two things.

Either then ATC head unit is intermittent or faulty, or the heater control valve is sticking/faulty.

The heater control valves default position if full open. If the signal from the ATC unit is interrupted the heat will come on.
