Jet Black paint question.

Just for my clarification, is the optional Jet Black on my 2015 a clear coat paint?

I’m having a time researching paint colors.
From what I understand, only the metallic paints have a coat of clear.

I do not know if this applies to MB and may be obsolete info now but It is understanding that they do not clear coat black finishes because it get so hot in the sun that the clear coat peels off the paint prematurely.

It's my understanding that only the metalics have clear coat, at least that's how it was in 2015 when I bought mine.

Midnightmoon, how are you liking the Flat Black? I dont see very many black Sprinters.

I have that chosen as my Paint option for my 4x4 170 at the moment. Mercedes Black looks so nice (when clean). My concern is the heat inside, and swirl marks outside. I would hope to remedy that by coating the inside with ceramic paint and 2 fans.

However, for 2017-18 the Flat Black is just the same price as the Metallic colors.
