Who Does Your Repairs? Opinion?

I've only had my sprinter for just over two weeks and probably plan to do some repairs myself, but to get a road worthy I used Six Star Auto. I had trouble finding who actually did repairs in Melbourne. I was going to use 3-Point Motors in Fairfield, but found Six Star.

The experience was fairly good. The price reasonable. I didn't want price-shock from an official dealership but wanted someone that knew their stuff but also not dodgy. After a tip off from a euro car enthusiasts, I got in touch with Six Star in Bayswater, Melbourne.

The vehicle I took in had engine-light on with reduced torque mode, missing brake pad, wipers broken, and other minor problems. They replaced parts of the emissions system with genuine parts, new proper Mercedes oil change, road-worthy cert, genuine wiper, other minor fixes, labour costs and peddle rubber. The total cost come around $2100. I was phoned for options when they arose and got new items over reconditioned.

What's wrong with tynans? They have being doing my sprinter service for for at least 10 years

I've used Nick from Ace Auto Repairs based in Caringbah. Prices were good, and he seems to do a lot of work on sprinters and other commercials. he's a mobile mechanic and his own truck is a sprinter Came recommended by another user on the forum. Being a mobile mechanic, I'm not sure he has the gear for huge jobs like replacing engines. He replaced my waterpump, which requires demolishing half the front of the van for access, and everything is still running perfectly a year later.

I'll be sticking with Six Star as I've already got good service from them, but People recommend Eurostar in Victoria as well.

Thanks guys/gals, that's very good information you are throwing in here. I live in Brisbane but I am noting down theses contacts from other places. I own Sprinter for the last 2 years and camped around in Qld, Tassie, SA, NT (25,000km) and planning to travel more. But always back in mind this question pops up where to get help beside MB dealer workshop if required.

Anyone have experience with good mechanic in Brisbane or around it? Thanks.

we use Eurostar and find them most attentative for us anyway

I've just used Eurostar and they are better than the nearby stealership.

However, as I live in Ferntree Gully, I will give Six Star ago next time.

I do my own repairs, that's a perk of working for a dealership

Tucker road motors in North Rd Ormond.
They specialise in euro vehicles, great knowledgeable service, good rates & most importantly they are as honest as the day is long.
A little while back I had a mystery coolant leak and numerous workshops (including tucker road) failed to find the spot it was leaking from. One day I decided to go over the coolant system myself for the umpteenth time & found the leak. I called Tucker Road Motors (who look after my service requirements) & told him what I had found & he insisted I bring it in at my convenience & he will fix it free of charge as he said he felt most embarrassed at not finding the leak in the first instance whilst the vehicle was in for service. I have also found him happy to show me certain small jobs so that In future I can deal with them myself & save a bit of money.
Thoroughly recommended.
