2007 Sound 5 Auxilary Input

I just purchased a new Sprinter with the Sound 5 base rdio, and noticed that I could select an auxilary input. I asked my dealer about this and they were clueless.

Does anyone know what it takes to access this input and how to remove the radio to do it?

Thanks

I posted the same thing about a Sound 30 and have yet got a reply. However, there is a thread about the Sound 5 and AUX inputs. Do a search and you will see step by step and parts you will need.

No need to purchase anything...I just did it on mine and it worked great. The whole thing took about 15 minutes from start to finish.
Take a look at this other user's writeup...https://sprinter-source.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1806

What I did is I used a triple lead connector (a female connector with 3 wires); I pulled the wires and terminals out of the connector (you just need 3 wires: left, right and ground. https://sprinter-source.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=5282&stc=1&d=1198207993

then simply inserted them into the appropriate terminal in the back of the radio. https://sprinter-source.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=5283&stc=1&d=1198208352

I then took out a headphone jack out of the old donor pc I had laying around, drilled a hole in the compartment below the radio and inserted that jack into the hole and held it in with superglue. See pics. If you have any other questions, just ask.
